The laws of kashrus are the most common laws in our daily lives which is why it is particularly important to learn them thoroughly, to know what to do and how to handle a question that arises.
Fifty years ago, the Rebbe launched Mivtza Kashrus, sparking a global transformation. Thanks to the dedication of shluchim worldwide, kosher food is now accessible across the globe, supporting both frum Jews and thousands of baalei teshuvah taking on kashrus each year.
But with this privilege comes serious responsibility. Whether certifying a restaurant, running an industrial kitchen in their Chabad House, or transforming a hall for a kosher wedding, shluchim are often called on to make complex halachic decisions, sometimes without a Rov immediately available, such as on Shabbos or Yom Tov.
That’s why we’ve created a groundbreaking course in Hilchos Kashrus, designed specifically for shluchim, a training that prepares you to become a certified Kashrus expert, built for the realities shluchim face.
A collaboration between Machon Limud Halacha – Lemaan Yilmedu and OK Kosher, this course blends in-depth halachic learning with hands-on, real-world application.
What You'll Learn:
How It Works:
The course features weekly shiurim by Rabbi Yossi Barber, a renowned kashrus teacher known for his clarity, depth, and practical approach to halacha. You'll learn directly from the Shulchan Aruch and its commentaries, with a focus on applying halacha to real-life shlichus scenarios.
Classes are accompanied by summarized booklets with clear diagrams and visual aids and English translations of source texts for easy referencing. Classes are recorded and accessible at your convenience, making it easy to keep up, no matter your schedule.
The course is also suitable for Shluchim who serve as active kashrus supervisors, and it will provide them with all the necessary knowledge for supervising restaurants, events, and more.
Graduates who successfully complete the course will receive a "Kashrus Expert" certification, jointly issued by Lemaan Yilmedu and OK Kosher.
The learning will focus on the practical but will include learning from the Shulchan Aruch in order to get down the basics and gain an understanding of the halacha in the best possible way.
