About the Course

The Jewish calendar is filled with beautiful moments — but each one comes with its own set of halachos and customs. Whether it’s hearing the shofar, building a sukkah, preparing for Pesach, or knowing what’s permitted on Chol HaMoed, the chagim u'moadim bring with them a world of halachic detail. And of course, there is understanding in what way Yom Tov is similar and different from Shabbos.

And every year, the same questions come up. How do I kasher my countertop for Pesach? Can the Purim meal be held at night? Is writing a check on Chol HaMoed allowed? If someone can’t fast on Yom Kippur, do they need to make kiddush?

These aren’t just theoretical questions — they’re real issues that impact how we celebrate. That’s why the Gemara tells us Moshe Rabbeinu himself established the practice of learning the halachos of each Yom Tov in its season.

The Yomim Tovim course is designed to guide you through the halachos of each Jewish holiday, focusing on halacha lema’aseh — the laws as they’re actually practiced today. You'll gain the confidence to prepare for each Yom Tov properly and meaningfully.

Topics covered include:

  • Yom Tov & Chol HaMoed
  • Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot
  • Chanukah and Purim
  • The month of Nissan, including Pesach prep and the Seder
